around the country. In addition, we buy insurance subrogation items
and take advantage of other great buys in the marketplace. Often these
purchases are made at 10 to 12 cents on the dollar, and even after
adding a margin to these prices; we are able to offer incredible pricing
to our customers. Typically, retail stores have a 200% to 400% markup,
and you can compare this to our practice of selling at 50% to 75% below retail.
Our business is based on dealing with the same customers time and time again.
Therefore, reputation means everything to us. A typical retail jewelry store
often tells a customer anything without regard to accuracy because the retail
store views that sale as a one-time transaction. But when you deal with the same
people, or group of people, over and over as we do, our word, products and
services, as well as our grading, have to be beyond question.
Our main supplier is a company that is over 30 years old and is run by
individuals with a combined total of over 100 years of experience in the
jewelry industry. One of these people has 39 years of experiences, including
serving as vice-president of a major jewelry chain before forming his own company.
Southeastern Gems serves as the shipper for your wholesale suppliers. Southeastern Gems
maintains a web site showing some of the merchandise that is currently available. The
web site is updated every month with new and exciting offerings to reflect new
merchandise that is constantly arriving in the offices. All merchandise is
stored at the wholesale location in downtown Atlanta and all items are shipped
from that location each day.
Southeastern Gems processes orders, clears checks, and arranges for merchandise
to be shipped to customers around the country. Southeastern Gems was formed by
William R. Delphey, B.S., B.A., MBA, CPA who has 30 years of experience in
business and finance. Bill is the author of a well-known book on credit and
finance and has more than 30 published articles dealing with business, credit,
finance, etc. Bill works closely with your wholesale suppliers and with your
organization to ensure customer satisfaction. Southeastern Gems is insured by
major insurance companies, and Southeastern’s Policies and Procedures are
supervised and directed by attorneys and CPAs to ensure that you receive
the most professional service available.
